a little NaruSaku that came outta nowhere
I haven't posted or really been active on lj for a while...but now that it's snowing, I'm more inclined to sit in front of my computer, all cuddled up in blankets than veture outside as I usually would. Anyways, I'm trying to write for my naruto_wishlist gift fic but it's not really coming out well. :/
Gah, I'm worried too cause the person I'm writing for is a damn. good. writer.
OH THE PRESSURE. Anyways, here is something random that I thought I'd post and maybe get some feedback on. To continue or to not continue?

“Giving up doesn’t always mean you’re weak.” Her eyes were soft and the way she met his gaze let him know the way she cared about him. He unconsciously found her hand, and once it was in the palm of his own large hand, he squeezed tightly.
“Sometimes it means that you’re strong enough to let go.”
He felt her fingers slowly intertwine with his own when he didn’t-couldn’t-answer. They stood there, at the centre of that small bridge, leaning across the rail in a careless action they had done countless times before, saying nothing. The sun, though slowly fading in the sky, warmed his lower back and created their shadows, playing across the water. Finally, when that heat of day had almost disappeared, and their reflections had become nothing but a blur of darkness, did she say the words that he would never forget.
“I can’t promise you happiness, or the comradely bond and connection that he gave you. There is no rivalry between us, nor will I call you names or look down on you or aggravate you the way that only he could. I can only offer you my never-ending friendship and love for you as my best friend, my teammate and my partner, Uzumaki Naruto.” She gently let her fingers slip away before placing a gentle but firm kiss to the side of his face.
“And I will promise you one thing:
I’ll never leave your side.”
And then with that, Sakura walked away, leaving her blond companion, one of the strongest shinobi in Konoha, to fall to his knees.
