So I totally backed into someone today. Not happy at all. I pulled up to the gas pump and then realized that the gas door was on the other side (I haven't filled up in our new car yet). I got back in the car, pulled up, and started backing up. When I started backing up, no one was there, but then two old ladies in an Impala started pulling up in my back blind spot. Apparently she stopped and honked, but it sounded like the honks were coming from the road so I didn't stop...and backed into her front bumper. The Saab is fortunately undamaged and only has paint marks from her car. Unfortunately, her bumper was dented in and it's my fault since I backed into her, even though I was clearly going for that gas pump. I pulled out the water works, well I really was upset, and she seemed to be understanding (though she was being kind of mean after it happened). The policeman was nice and told her that I just got married, so hopefully she'll have a heart and not rape us with the price of repairs. She said she would call with some quotes and hopefully not have to file it through insurance. Of course these kinds of things always seem to happen with new cars, just to make it that much worse. A week after I got the Firebird I put it in a ditch (though that was when I was only 18 and a relatively unexperienced driver). At least with this little accident, there really wasn't anything I felt I could have done differently. I mean, I guess anytime I hear a honk from now on I'll stop, unless I'm speeding down the freeway or something.
In other news, I have an interview tomorrow for my previous internship supervisor's job. I'm really, really hoping for it and I will be very disappointed if I don't get it. I wish I could go into it not caring too much either way because that would make me less nervous, but I sooooo want this job!
Hope everyone's day is going better than mine!
