things have been good and things have been bad. work has been busy but i like it. my friend got baby bunnies and they are super cute and cuddly. one of the puppies she bred and gave away is coming back because the lady didn't take very good care of him. his name is zealand, i named him and he was my favorite out of the litter. she said i could keep him at my house, but he'd have to be intact and on a special diet since he's a show dog. he's a dalmatian, btw. going to chicago in june, and still hoping for that car.
with the good comes the bad though. my springer, sprocket, got hit by a car march 29th. he was only 3 years old. he's the dog i rescued after someone dumped him off at the petsmart i used to work at. i'm still absolutely heartbroken over the whole thing. my other dog is very lonely without him too. my friend has also lost two of her dalmatians this year. must be a bad year for dogs. isn't it the year of the rat or something? anyway, my dad wants to just go to a shelter and get a dog. i'm torn about that, because i want another springer. i fell in love with the breed and i would like another one. i know shelter dogs need homes and those stupid purina commercials make me cry every time they're on, but with a dog from a breeder, they come with health guarantees. they are bred for temperament, hearing, eyesight, etc, not just appearance and structure. i would hate to go pick a shelter dog and get attached to it just for it to die of some debilitating disease next year. and you never know what kind of temperament you're going to get, since dogs usually change once you take them away from the shelter environment. i don't want a dog who's going to be aggressive toward children since i have a little nephew, or food aggressive, or a fence jumper since we live right next to a major road. with shelter dogs too, you never know for sure what they are mixes of, and some breeds have "snap" personalities, where they're fine one minute and tearing your face off the next. every breed has faults, and i'm not trying to generalize because i know breeds with good reputations, like goldens, can be very aggressive, more so than the ones like pitbulls who get the bad rap. i've never met a mean pitbull, but i've met plenty of mean goldens, labs, etc, who people think wouldn't hurt a fly. so you never know. and that's the thing, with breeders, you can know what you're getting. the parents are on site for you to see how they turned out, and sometimes the grandparents, the siblings, etc. maybe i just hang out with too many breeders. but there's a really good springer breeder down in the ozarks by branson, and i'm up for a road trip.
most of the rest of my life is dedicated to paying credit card bills. oh joy. and i need to do my taxes.
i signed up for netflix and i love it!
wish i could afford a scion tc, those things are cool.
well, i guess that's all. just waiting for summer to roll around. i'm so pale right now i'm practically see-through.
*bye sprocket...*
