the yay factor
this week would suck if it weren't for a little something happening at the gardens this weekend: the japanese festival! a celebration of all things japan! they have martial arts demos, sumo matches, an anime movie showing and anime/manga stuffs, japanese candies and ramune sodas, japanese food booths with yakisoba and bbq beef stir fry and bento boxes and rice balls with sour plum centers, kimonos, good luck kitties, jewelry, chopsticks, plants, koi, anything that makes you think japan is there! it's going on sat, sun, mon. unfortunately, i have to work sat and mon, but i'm off sun! going to be so fun! i'm going with lily, then later, we're going to a movie.
the reason this week would suck without the festival is because things are so crazy at work. i worked 10 hours today, 11 hours yesterday, and tomorrow's going to be more of the same. why does everyone want their dogs washed for labor day? it's not like christmas or anything. dogs have been crazy lately too. must be the full moon and the eclipse.
and to top that off, the air show is this weekend. the airfield where they have it is like, 2 blocks from my work. so they've been practicing all week and doing fly bys and it sounds like they're trying to land on our roof. a couple times we heard these sonic booms that made our lights flicker and walls shake. scared the dogs to freakin' death and they all started barking like mad. we were like, enough already! and they block off the roads around there so traffic only goes down one street. well, they block off the road to my work, so i have to go some insane way, plus i have to leave an hour early so i can get through the traffic. i'm telling you, if not for this festival and the fact that i need spending money...
