Okay, let me make this claim: Bob Dylan did NOT sell out, and the Victoria's Secret commercial is quite possibly the best advertisement I have seen in a long, long time.
I cheer the person who came up with the idea to use the "Lovesick" song. I applaud the director who suggested trying to get Bob Dylan himself to show up. And I bend in supplication (okay, that's a little overboard) toward Bob Dylan himself for recognizing in the commercial a quality deserving of both his song and his presence. (I've heard, contrary to most people's speculation, that it didn't take much to convince him to do it.)
That commercial is art. And Bob Dylan did not sell out.
