A great day for Asian swimmers today as 2 out of the 4 gold medals decided today went to Asian swimmers.
China's Liu Zige won the 200m butterfly and in the process created a new world record of 2:04:18 while
Japan's Kosuke Kitajima won the 200m Breaststroke and became the only person to win all breaststroke events at 2 consecutive Olympics. He's already 26 this year and it's likely that the Beijing Olympics will be his swan song..
Well done Kosuke.
Hopefully, we'll see more Asian faces on the podiums in time to come.
