I'm aliiiiiiiiiiiive. ...sort of.
It's been two months! But I'm not dead, really and truly. I was just almost dead for a bit there.
I had any number of reasons for neglecting good old LJ so drastically, but the biggie was really just this seemingly never-ending cascade of stupid little (and big) health problems sapping my energy and time. But now I am on the mend from what is hopefully the last of them for a while - a stomach bug swept through the household and got me pretty bad, but it's receding now and I actually grabbed a few minutes for checking in here.
...there's been way too much going on for me to catch up on it, of course. But a few highlights:
- We had our little sort-of-wedding party thing at my grandparents' house at the end of December and it was super lovely. Lots of loved ones, lots of good times. Lots of beautiful pictures which I will acquire in non-proof form and upload someday.
- The Sprout is crawling like she's freaking rocket-propelled, all over the place, and just started standing unassisted this weekend. Also she has two teeth and the most precious toofy little grin. And she's started doing the makey-outy kissing with me just like the Bean used to do, where she grabs my head and just plants her slobbery mouth on mine and cackles. And she EATS. I have never seen such a food-loving baby in all my days; she just gobbles whatever we give her with a passion. Thus far her favorites are plain yogurt (like, totally plain) and Cheerios, but she will eat pretty much anything.
- The Bean continues to be the best big brother ever, and scares me with what a little grown-up he's becoming. HOW IS HE ALMOST FIVE OMG. He has been getting a little stir-crazy, and crazy-making, what with it being winter and him not having much chance to play outside, but such is the way of childhood. And in a month or so, he starts "kid baseball" (tee ball), which he has been BEGGING to play since he saw the local Little League in the park last summer.
And now the entry is, as usual, cut short by a stirring critter. But I'm back!
