At 2:30pm on Saturday we finally got an email from donor boy. No reason. No apology. No concern that we might be upset after so many attempts to communicate. Just a message saying he could be at our house at 6:30pm tonight.
We were kind of speechless. We've talked to him twice before about how we really need a little more communication and pre-planning of donations. Just a couple days or even just 24 hours! Obviously it didn't sink in. Obviously there is no reason to try again. But, being the desperate ttc-ers that we are, we agreed to have him come over and donate. I am almost sure it was post-ovulation by about 20 hours so not really a viable attempt. Mostly I think we wanted to see if, face to face, he didn't offer some sort of reason why he didn't give us just a text or email or something to know he was able to donate this cycle. He didn't. He came over and never mentioned it. Jake gently prodded and we got a non-response, just more small-talk.
Jake and I were so upset that we decided that we were looking for a new donor. We also said we weren't going to use him anymore. Once I get my period we plan to call him and tell him we are taking a break. We don't feel comfortable just ending the donor relationship outright because...well, donors are fucking hard to find. What if the new search goes so badly that this guy's lack of communication becomes tolerable again? We say we are taking a break. We say we won't be using this donor again. I don't entirely believe that will be the case. I fear we will end this cycle, still not have any potential donors and decide to put up with this donor stressing us out with this last minute arranging.
The ads are out at the responses aren't exactly flooding in. The couple viable responses we have gotten are taking their time getting back to us so perhaps they changed their mind. In the mean time we are counting our pennies to save ups for those IUI/Clo.mid/trigger cycles this summer. ::sigh::
