(no subject)
Back in Chicagoland for a week of work.
Got in Saturday afternoon and drove straight from the airport to woodychitwn's birthday party. It was full of fun times and great people--definitely one of the best parties I've been to in a while. It was nice to see so many friends immediately after arriving, and I even got to meet a few people.
After too many ciders rendered my rental G6 useless, panth was kind enough to not only drive me to his place so I could crash in a vacant room, but also to make steel-cut oatmeal + genuine percolated coffee this morning! (I now realize I need to toss out that Quaker rolled-oat BS I keep in my cupboard and replace it with some of this steel-cut business as soon as I get back home.)
After this fine breakfast, I spent the rest of the day resting and hanging with panth, hypersnazz and tozier-wah (who was awesome enough to drive an hour tonight to help me get the rental car back! <3 ).
Spending the night tonight in Wisconsin at a cheap motel with a huge bed and 100 pillows in prep. for a quick errand tomorrow, then it's back down to Illinois.
Already looking forward to next weekend, when hopefully I'll be able to grab some food in the city (perhaps at a greek joint recommended by justinrbunny). Anyone else up for this ? ?
