Nikki has been sick for a couple days. Monday she was by the babysitter, and when we came home she was mushy and warm.
Decided Monday nite, to keep her home yesterday, just to see how she was doing. At 2pm on Tuesday she had a temperature of 102.9. So we got the pleasure of going to the pediatrician.
Saw the pediatrician, who said her ears are clear but she has a REALLY RED throat. The strep culture was negative. So it's not bacterial it's viral, oh joy oh rapture.
So she has to be 24 hours fever free to go back to the babysitter. Well lest nite she had no fever, I figured we were in the clear, about 11am. It was around 101, I don't recall exactly. I think it was 101.3, it was definitely over 101 but it wasn't THAT HIGH.
Nikki also napped on and off for like 3 hours she was stirring and kvetching, but it was seriously a solid 3 hours.
To be honest I'm glad it's nothing more serious and I know it just needs to run it's course. Of course it's been raining the past two days, and I don't have that much food in the house. I mean we have a random assortment of food.
I'm also stressed because we have friends coming for shabbos. We've NEVER had shabbos guests before. I had planned on food shopping and cleaning this week. But that went out the window with a sick baby.
I already touched base with them, and let them know she's sick, ie making it there call as to come or not.
They asked for the invitation, she sells clothing, and motzei shabbos there is a Hannukah fair/bazaar on Staten Island, like 5 minutes from my house. So clearly they'll suck up a sick kid to be closer to the sale. I'm hoping I get a new skirt out of the deal(not free, but a good deal, you know.) The stuff she sells is nice and it's reasonable for frum prices.
