Sketch dump time!

I practically only draw during classes these days, but it turns out I end up drawing a lot, because if I'm not drawing my mind wanders and I don't pay attention. A couple of these were done at home, while chatting, having coffee. I haven't sat down to draw properly in ages. First one under the cut is a nude, warning for the poor people who can't ( Read more... )

you appear to be having a problem with noses
I know because I have been there
one of my offline friends worked with comics for a few years before deciding it was a mugs game and there was more money in picking his nose
but we learned somethings along the way
neopiko are the same as copic - just slightly cheaper, but really don't go any cheaper than that - it really does show
a g-pen really can be used for most things but for fine lining you need a crow pen
and when it comes to noses - suggestions work better than statements
for example

Jim Lee does wonderwoman - (note pencil lines too) the socket is there as is the tip of her nose
now if we check a male character

there is a single line coming out of the shadows -he replaces detail with shading - simple ne
I have some scanned books for you as well, but I have to upload them

Thanks for the advice! But as for the pens, these were all done in 6B pencil or a regular writing pen in school notebooks with crappy paper. I have good stuff at home but I'm not going to carry it all to school (plus, I can't draw too much attention to what I'm doing, I'm doodling while the teachers are wibbling on about whatever, after all).

Noses - oddly enough, while I like Jim Lee, his noses are my least favourite part of his anatomy. They're too small and pretty and perky. I like long, well defined noses - hey, I come from a country of people with big noses, might be something there. Steve Dillon draws my favourite noses of all (my favourite everything, really), see there - http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Gd8NBIma-zo/TFOatvdpE5I/AAAAAAAAOQo/BGaidBmMqAE/s1600/Punisher+Max+%239+-+favouritecolor.jpg

Which books do you have? I own a ton of anatomy books but I can always use more (actually, what I could really use is time to work with them, I haven't had time to draw outside of class in months, which is also why I haven't sent you anything for the Star Trek thing yet).
