Please don't make me wait long to talk about Changes, guys. The majority of the book follows his usual narrative formula, and 8/10 of my predictions were right (the other two still may happen), but the ending is completely unpredictable. No, seriously.
Some thoughts:
1. Mouse is made of awesome and win. The way he mouths off at Lea, his insistence that he won Harry and not the other way around, yeah.
2. Well that's one way to get out of being the Winter Knight, Harry. My guess? Kinkaid since he's the one that once threatened Harry with killing him from at least 300 feet away using subsonic ammo. Why? I'm not sure which of several reasons. Most likely, it's the White Council. I had thought, though, that it'd be something more like what happened in Grave Peril. Under controlled conditions and all.
3. I take back most of my suspicions about McCoy. But not all of them. And I still think Harry will eventually be the heir to the black staff. It's just more literal, now.
4. The ending with Susan. Guh. Wow.
5. That's really dirty, Jim, ending the book on a cliffhanger like that.
So yeah. I'd have to say this is one of the best books in the series, mostly for what happens at the end.
