Despair, Misery, and Distress

Yes, there is actually a reason I've been gone this time. I'll go in order:

First there's Despair. A month ago (exactly one month, I think), the internet on my computer, Gwen, cut out. Just flat out died. I tried the HP help site, and downloaded a bunch of things - through a different computer's internet, in an annoying process - and nothing fixed it. I even tried a full system recovery that got me absolutely no where. And just, lucky for me, before this, I signed up for the SciFi Big Bang. So I was very frustrated and upset.

But then, my dad had a brilliant idea. The problem only seemed to be with the wireless internet, so an ethernet cord should get Gwen connected again. It worked, and things were getting better. I got 4,000 words into my Big Bang, and it was a story I liked and could easily continue. Until this Monday. I was sitting on the internet (browsing through tvtropes, God help me), and had to go do something. Shut Gwen closed, and then I came back later. Opened her up, and she would not come all the way on. She was stuck on standby.

I showed her to Dad, and he told me there was nothing we could do. I cried. I don't feel stupid about that. I freaking love that computer, and she was very likely dead. Not to mention, my dad was busy insulting her, which did not make me happy. So now I've got her in a box to ship to the extended warranty place to see if they can fix her. I'm actually rather depressed about the whole thing.

Then we have a much shorter story for Misery. And it's not as much of a problem any more. Basically, I got a new part of my braces. I now have the entirety of a Herpe's Appliance. I'll tell you, they are absolutely stupid and bloody uncomfortable. The first week or so, they gouged a hole into the inside of my mouth, so I stuck a piece of cloth in there to cover them until the hole healed over. Not fun. So, yeah, braces are the work of the devil.

And now for Distress. I have finally seen Torchwood: Children of Earth. All five days. Suffice to say, I can't wait until I get to talk to Marisa about it. Also the one thing I really wish hadn't happened keeps popping into my head at annoying times, so that's never good. I am curious about how they're going to make more Torchwood. And it was really annoying how everyone kept saying, "No, Jack. It's not your fault." It WAS his fault, so get over it.

braces, computers, torchwood, real life woes
