we had a show in fort worth nearly a week ago (friday). out of town shows like that make me realize the difference between scenes. here, its evident no one likes us. i might as well not hide that. when we go out of town, its different. we play shows with at all cost (<3) and suddenly we get a more respectful crowd reaction, more shows follow because of this, a lot of people come up and talk to me just to ask simple questions including "whens the next show?" or "i dont have money now, can i get some of yalls shit off your site?" among other things. i want to tour. but never come back.
we have a huge fest this summer, september 4, 5, 6. its with bands ranging from.. From A Second Story Window, An Albatross, The Sawtooth Grin, The Number 12 Looks Like You, and more. im really excited.
i think people mistake "genius" with just someone being highly weird. i mean honestly, im just using him as an example, but i dont find maynard from tool/apc to be the slightest bit of a genius. hes just weird and expresses himself differently than other people. hes unique, granted, but not a genius.
mike kinsella is a genius. american football, owen, joan of arc, cap'n'jazz, owls.
lately ive picked up a guitar a lot more. im going to do my best to learn more insturments outside of drums, bass, and piano. guitar is incredibly easy, ive played that for maybe 2 and a half weeks now and i find most of it to come easily as long as you dont get pissed off. of course im sure there is tons left, im just speaking with what ive encountered so far. piano is probably the most respectable of all of these. im really interested in becoming really good at that... like jared (drummer) from 7a7p. that piano song he puts out is badass. touchy song.
next year im taking: physics 1, alg 2, us history, english 3, world affairs, psychology ap, and music theory 2.
english 3, psychology, music theory, and world affairs should all be a breeze. especially music theory since i know all that will be discussed in there already.
i havent had good sleep in so long. i usually stay up at night now (i like it) i have better things to do than sleep. its dissapointing though cause then i come back to school and bitch about it. oh well.
suli and charlie dickerson are fighting after school today. haha. this could be interesting.
i want to start chillin with luis, charlie cruz, zach and a few others more often. i absolutely never argue with those guys.
i need to make sure i play my cards right on certain things coming up.
i dont want to lose a chance with something, or take a chance and mess it up.
yeah, i got a lot to figure out.
