*hugs* oh, i really hope this trip of your parents' goes well! despite the nature aspect (which i still don't understand about you at all, but whatever. ~_^), i hope it's a good bonding time for you--and a good time in general.
and you should totally feel like you can be goofy and excited about those old freind TV shows with me. you never know, i may have watched one or two of them myself. ;)
Oh trust me... The nature thing runs deep. I respect nature and enjoy it, as long as I don't have to interact with it. Big brother's a cow boy that hunts, fishes, and camps out with a knife and a cup. Mom's got a jungle growing in her back yard. Yeeeaaah... Not for me.
>.> Digimon (season 2 mostly), Naruto (first 136 episodes)...
i never got into Naruto, though that's probably the fault of the english dub. what i saw of Digimon was fun, though i couldn't tell you what season it was. (or much else about it for that matter; was going through tough times back when it was popular.)
Naruto was my first offical Manga. The english dub was TERRIBLE. But the Jap dub was awesome. When you get past the main character trio fail, it's a really amazingly well characterized manga/anime.
Digimon came on at the same time as Pokemon (Pokemon was WB, Digimon was Fox. I hated Pokemon so I defaulted to Digimon out of a lack of cable TV and nothing else to watch but the news.) It was a pretty tough time in my life too but it got me through it so it holds a very special place in my heart. <3
i might have to give it another chance someday, then.
yeah, the timing on them coming out made it really hard for me to watch them (no cable at home, no local reception due to stuff in our walls, etc) and it would have been around the time of the Worst School Year Ever, which plunged me into the depths of depression. i don't remember a lot of my last year of middle school or my first year of high school, because mentally i just wasn't present for it. then by the time that passed, pokemon and digimon were the two shows you weren't caught dead watching unless you had really young siblings.
