Internal struggles are the most difficult to wage. There are no killing blows, no gats to strap on, no real way to even the odds. Reality IS how your mind decides that you perceive it, and there's no greater adversary than one that can at will make you blind deaf dumb and drive you past the edge of sanity.
A noted indiscrepancy: A drug is something that can hedge your mind into submission temporarily, a substance that can throw the machine into a predetermined mode. In this manner, they can be the gun at the knife fight.
But I'll do this bare-handed, if I do it at all. Emotions are what make us human, but I won't let emotions be what make me Neil.
