Hello lovelies! I have begun to write my petition letter for college and I'm terrified. A distraction is needed, so I was wondering...if you've made the (permanent) switch from TS2 to TS3, how did you do it? For me, it's taking more than playing the game to actually get into it. Ignoring the hours I spend creating a sim and their home, the gameplay

It's honestly taken me three months to start to enjoy the game. I am guilty of trying to play it like Sims 2, and 3 months is how long it's taken me to have the neighbourhood slightly to my liking in terms of appearance. I only have 4 households...again, it's taken an insane amount of time to fashion each of them into entities bearable for me to play.
I think if you love Sims 2 you have to be prepared invest a lot of time and patience into Sims 3 to make it an enjoyable pastime, but you will be able to find it rewarding. The scenery for a start can be quite literally breathtaking. Editing Sims and objects is fun, and so is travelling around the neighbourhood. (especially on a bike!) The loading time is nothing even for a CC addict like me. It seems a lot less glitchier and more stable than Sims 2, although I know many many people would say the opposite! But I've been very lucky...so far.
I would recommend Twallan's mods if you're used to micro-managing everything, and there are lots of great cheats that enable you to edit the neighbourhood...testingcheatsenabled buydebug for example is quite awesome, and definitely changed my feelings towards the game for the better once I started to experiment with it...you can use it to edit just about everything in the 'hood. Another cheat I found invaluable in my own game is (testingcheatsenabled) maptags off which gets rid of those ridiculous comet-tails that make your Sims look like they've turned into creepy pudding-headed tadpoles. And Aikea's no drift camera mod...absolutely essential.
Good luck with your petition!!! Hugs xxxx

I do love the scenery in TS3. It's honestly breathtaking! I guess I will just have to be more patient, indeed.
And ha! I didn't download Aikea's hack this time and now I see why I blindly downloaded it everytime before. The game camera is crazy!
And thank you!
