It is so on
The butterflies are back. The Sox and Yankees are so evenly matched, that it's really tough to say who I really think will win and why. I keep saying Sox in 6, but is that because I'm biased? We'll see in about a week. All I know is I have tickets for game 5, and I don't see either team sweeping this series, so I'll be there for one game. I almost feel bad for other teams, because they must be sick of all the Sox/Yankees talk, and obviously they want their team there, but when you look at it objectively, these were the two best teams in the AL this season, and they have the best rivalry in pro sports, if not all of sports in general. Some random thoughts:
I'm so sick of hearing Tim McCarver. I know he's going to be awful, no fans like him, yet Fox keeps bringing him back. Who thinks this is a good idea? Can't they put him in the reject bin along with the glowing puck?
There is no curse. I seriously mean that. You hope the umpires don't take over the series and if they don't the winner will be the team with the best players and coaches. Last year the Torre/Little matchup was really the difference. Not ghosts, not Pedro, not Wakefield, not Aaron Boone.
I'm looking forward to game 2. I really think Pedro is going to come out and have an absolutely amazing game. Something tells me that 2 hours of hearing "Who's your daddy?" will piss him off enough to dominate. Don't forget that last year when he was public enemy number 1 for the city of New York he pitched 7 very good innings in their stadium. This is right up his alley.
The whole Mariano Rivera thing is extremely weird. No one talks about it, but if dogs going in your pool is such a problem, why wouldn't you build a real fence? What compels you to put a strong electric current near a pool? Don't you know that electricity and water don't work well together? And wouldn't you tell family members that are there that your pool could electricute them?
I really don't mind that MLB made a t-shirt making fun of the whole who's your daddy thing, but why not have something for Sox fans? Maybe a t-shirt making fun of how ARod got bitched slapped by Tek. Or do they just realize we can make our own, but Yankee fans aren't that smart.
I hate Yankee fans. Seriously. They are the most obnoxious people you will ever meet. They're just worse people then the rest of us. Hopefully the Sox will win in 6 so we can return the favor.
