I'll provide the spice

so birthday celebration went well. Prime-number age, you are fast approaching!

there was shrimp and green bean salad, yay! the cake was okay, some kind of coffee ice cream thing from the grocery store. real cake on tues, apparently, since that's my actual birthday and mom will have time to make it.

and skot was here, and so was sis's CBF, so the mid part felt kind of like a double date. oh man, Hearts, i always seem to forget just how awesome you are.

I got A Scanner Darkly (yay!) twice, RENT (well okay, why not), and a thing to play an iPod in a car. Note i don't say MY iPod, because I don't have one. It was hilarious and sad, the way my mother was surprised. Since she, you know, bought me an iRiver back in the day when i graduated from high school. No one gave me a bookstore gift certificate, for the second holiday in a row, which again surprised me, since that is the obvious choice for me always. But these embarassments were alleviated by the fact that i really DO like A Scanner Darkly (this is the movie by the way) a great deal; also, Skot pulled through with a WRAPPED six-foot staff, which i basically threw in my car for later battles (and like ten presents' worth of wrapping once i unwind all of that) and a clear green dice set so i can play my Carpe Diem game and such, both of which are pretty awesome. Also, a card with funny hospitalized animal cartoons on it and a limerick inside! Score!

also, i rocked the house on making my egg sandwich today. oh man. it was fantastic.

geeky glee, awkwardness, family, irony, culinary exploits
