Harry Potter-ness

**WARNING: DEATHLY HALLOWS SPOILERS AND EXTREME NERDY-NESS AHEAD**

So it's done. I've finished Deathly Hallows (quite a while ago, actually. I finished July 23, but I was too lazy to post an entry about it). My childhood has come to an end. Sort of. Before I get into a long, drawn-out DH discussion, I want to talk about Enlightening 2007, a Harry Potter convention I went to with Emily.
We were only there for one day. The reason we went is because Mugglecast was having a live podcast there. It was sooo much fun. Everyone was having all these last minute theories and such about what was going to happen. Emily and I met Emerson (again), Micah, and Jamie. Unfortunately, we didn't meet Andrew, but Emily's up in Canada right now at Prophecy (I think she's coming back tomorrow), so she'll have met Andrew for me. Anyways, it was great.

SO, onto Deathly Hallows. let me just make on last SPOILER ALERT here. If you haven't read the book, stop reading NOW!

Okay, so I thought the book was amazing. And I'm not just saying that. In my opinion, it was the best in the series. At parts it was just too confusing, though. I found myself having to go back and reread certain passages once or twice in order to get the full understanding of it all. But I loved the suspense of it all. And OHMYGOD, Snape. Ahhhh, The Prince's Tale is one of the SADDEST chapters of the whole series. He's such a complex character. He loved Lily so much, and yet his hunger for the Dark Arts overpowered that love. And the whole thing with unwittingly betraying her to Voldemort and being somewhat responsible for the death of someone he loved so...AHHH it's all so emo!
And DOBBY! Oh God, Dobby, you brave little elf, you. When you died, I swear, I fell apart. I cried and cried and cried. You loved Harry so much. It breaks my heart, the way you died. Your last words were, "Harry...Potter..." And when Harry was digging your grave with nothing but a gardening shovel, without magic, I fell apart. Dobby, you are a free elf. Dobby is freeeee<3333
My one major complaint with the book is how Lupin and Tonks died. Lupin was one of my favorite characters, and I thought that if he died, he deserved, I dunno, some sort of justifying death scene. But no, Jo just kinda sticks it in that he and Tonks died, and I thought, "WTF DUDE?"
Fred's death was really upsetting too. I don't think I cried, but my eyes got a little teary. Poor George, his best friend is gone.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Battle at Hogwarts as a whole. It was awesome. And then when Harry's fighting Voldemort, and he just keeps calling him Tom, I thought that was just sooooo, I dunno, cool.
About the epilogue, a lot of people didn't like it. They thought it was too cheesy. I admit it was a bit cheesy, and I thought the whole Malfoy dynamic was a bit off, but I still liked it. Although, I wish Harry had named Albus Severus differently. Maybe Dumbledore Severus. Or Severus Dumbledore. I never fancied the name Albus, but what ever.
The last line of the book is my favorite. "And all was well." Finally, Harry's life is no longer fucked up!
