Goodbye 2010!
Hello 2011. Today is the 1/1/11! I am not excited about this much. I have no idea what this year is going to hold for me, and if I'm honest I live in trepidation that the start at least will not be plain sailing. Until I can leave Baileys my life will be stressful and occasionally unpleasant. I need to get working on that business plan. [see previous entry]
However, before I look forward, I should complete my review of the past year. I still cannot believe how quickly it went. Totally mad. From this side of 2010 I still feel like I wasted a lot of it. I didn't achieve anything with guitar, I'm still living at home, I still have a horrid job. I have got to change things this year. I need to focus my determination on making my own path and forging something new.
Things I have learned this year:
* [NEW REVELATION JUST IN] - My Mum thinks Christmas tree chocolates are missiles :/
* I have more sticking power than I realised. Several times this year I have thought I was coming to the end of the line with my job but I am still there.
* My Father is more useless than I ever thought.
* I really, really love My Chemical Romance!
* I still talk over people during conversations. I really must stop that :[
* Joan Hickson really is the best Miss Marple. No-one else should be let near the role EVER.
* There is far more wildlife around than you realise. Even alongside motorways.
* You should never think you finally understand people. They will always continue to astound you.
* Babies can hiccup, whilst still in the womb. Awesome or what?!
* I need God.
There are probably other things, which are more important than Miss Marple and chocolate missiles, but my brain is fried and I can't think of them. Instead here are some of the things that I consider landmarks in my 2010...
Gigs:
* My Passion - 15th Oct & Hallowe'en
* Kill Hannah - 7th & 9th May
* HIM - Valentine's Day avec awesome T-Shirt *hearts;
* 30STM - 21st Feb [BIRTHDAY]
Films:
* Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 1
* Eclipse
* Alice In Wonderland [3D]
Books:
* A Simples Life - Aleksandr Orlov
* The Tree of Seasons - Stephen Gately
* Her Fearful Symmetry - Audrey Niffeneger
TV:
* Toast
* Merlin
* Doctor Who
* Gavin & Stacey
* Sherlock
.......And so to 2011......
Goals:
* Create and add to a photo album of gig pictures that I have taken.
* Cook at least twice a week and try out different foods.
* Read the whole of 'The Street Bible' by the end of the year.
* Text or phone my cousin Rick at least once a month.
* Go somewhere I've never been once a month.
* Don't buy any more clothes specifically for work.
* If any pile of magazines or similar gets more than 5 items, SORT IT OUT.
* Take more pictures of the world around me.
* Recycle, upcycle, charity shop things that I no longer need or use.
* Go to some kind of exhibition every two months.
I hope you all had a great New Year! I myself did nothing on NYE. It's all a bit of an anticlimax. I have no-one to snog at midnight so there's little point in going out.
I hope you all achieve something fantastic this year. Happy 2011!
