The Fiesta went off perfectly! Shensi and Jason were both so happy. It warmed my heart to see them that way. It has been a long time. I think the Fiesta brought them closer and made the wedding all very real suddenly.
After much hard work, BBBS has found me a possible little sister!! I get to meet Leora today after work. She is 14 and lives nearby. I cannot wait. I am very nervous now that it is finaly happening. We have been waiting until I got a year of sobriety under my belt. I think I have put alot of undue pressure for this young lady to fill the gaping hole left in my heart by Corina. I know it is not a fair thing to do but I feel desperate to have a child in my life. I have alot to give. I think it could be good for both of us. She has some difficult issues that may or may not come up. I get to be there as a good example and escape from the ho-humm of her regular life. I think I will finally have the opportunity to be the aunt that I have been waiting to be!! I want to check into support groups for this position for advise on dealing with some of her past history. Maybe even LJ?
