Ahh, yes: that's the smell of an online argument!

Would any of you care to read my online "argument" with the "wonderful" people of the college_help community?  Here is the link:

Now, I understand what these people are saying, trust me...poor grammar and poor spelling are two of my biggest pet peeves.  I just don't think its fair for people to request that the members of this particular community stop using online slang/shortcuts such as "u" for "you" and "ur" for "your".  That is simply ridiculous!  That community's main purpose is to serve as a place for college students, prospective students, and graduates to talk about their experiences at college and ask any questions they might have.  There is no "good grammar" requirement to get into the community...

Granted, I might have put some words into one of their mouths in saying that poor grammar should not be equated with stupidity (he didn't really say that as much as he insinuated it), but its completely ludicrous for people to be that snotty and narrow-minded in a community geared toward helping others.  If they want to ban online slang, they should take the community offline.

I would bitch about the shitty day that I had, but the novelty of my being pissed at my boss has worn off.
