i didn't do a whole lot today, but spent a few hours on nit-picky stuff.

here's what i did:

made a draft list of appendices
put appendices together (i'm very uncertain about formatting; must check other people's dissertations)
fixed line numbers in the three analysis chapters
got rid of "draft" headers and footers in three analysis chapters + methods
fixed quotes that needed to be listened to in chapter III
fixed citations (missing ones) in methods, and the analysis chapters
gave 2 inch first page top margins to methods and the three analysis chapters

that's about it.

i still need to:
-add reflexive piece to methods
-make clear why my questions point to that methodology (i feel like i've done this but i have to do it for lorraine)
-fix stuff in the irvines chapter that i've left open
-make it more intertextual with other analysis chapters
-fix framing of that chapter so it flows with the rest
-fix kristen and paul excerpts
-across all the chapters: consistent format for ages of kids and other numbers
-in discussion: fix citations
-in discussion: take out headers/footers, give two inch top margin
-in discussion: more positive spin on articles i discuss
-in discussion: copy edit
-write abstract
-test bibliography
-finish acknowledgments
-integrate all chapters and do page numbers, fix ToC (can't do this until finished with EVERYTHING else)

yikes. that's a lot. blah.
