today i started early, took a chunky break after skating where i had trouble getting back to work, and then got back to work with a vengeance.
i now have notecards on 21 sources, with MUCH written. almost too much; i'm worried about losing focus, or being overwhelmed with information.
thus, my plan for tomorrow:
a) take 2 hours in the morning to write more thorough 'discourse analysis' section for methods, because it will help me with the theory chapter
b) make 4 large notecard/placeholders, corresponding to the four subsections of my theory chapter. then go through ALL my notecards and choose to which subsection each one belongs. put each notecard into a subsection. this should take about an hour, i think.
c) then, slowly, systematically, go through the first subsection, organize the notecards into the order of ideas i want to present, integrate with my mini-outline... this should take about an hour or two per subsection.
d) WRITE! (once all that work is done, i think each subsection should take about 3 hours to write).
and then do the same for the rest.
so i have:
-9-11, methods.
-11-12, organize notecards
break...
1-2:30, organize 1st subsection outline/ideas
2:30-5, write first subsection
5-6:30, organize 2nd subsection outline/ideas
then... SUNDAY
9-11:30, write 2nd subsection
12-1:30, organize 3rd subsection outline/ideas
1:30-4, write 3rd subsection
4-5:30, organize 4th subsection outline/ideas
5:30-9, write 4th subsection.
it should take me about two days to write it all. phew, a little daunting. i can do it, though.
now, bed!
