Going to the airport is always an adventure in itself. From the flirty security man to the spiteful passport controller. Today I was particularly amused by the middle aged east Asian chap at the bookshop in the waiting area. He wished one customer a "merry Christmas", another a "happy Easter" a third a "happy Kwanzaa" and I received just a "have a nice day". He scolded the Canadian guy in front of me for wanting to pay in dollars and equally gave 2 girls funny comments for requesting a large plastic bag.
The gate was rammed. While it's cold enough outside to wear a scarf, jt was boiling in there - too many people. This was strange. Check in was rammed with queues, gates were rammed and yet security was practically dead. Hmm
I was very confused by the fact that Lufthansa have taken over BMI (on the way to Frankfurt I had to get a steward to check my ticket because I thought I got on the wrong plane) so now it's harder to judge which language the staff speak. When I asked for my orange juice earlier I said "thanks...eh egal....either or....orangensaft!!!....dankeschön" ohdear. fail.
Anyway I'm back in brum now safe and sound!!
