wow... it sure has been awhile since I've even looked at my own posts. well, anyhow, I hope stephanie, whom I'm sure everyone I know misses quite alot, is doing well in england. As far as I can tell, she is one of the few designers who has come out of our department that has true ability and talent (although I suppose I can say the other never was apart of any sect of the university other than as a figment of a paper image). In thinking about that, the two of us have quite distinct differences of opinion when it comes to the process of design. I have come to hate the current practices, and hope firstly that I will never be a member of the stagehands union and secondly that I want my name (should I ever get to design) be alongside those of my crew as opposed to on top of theirs. I am tired of seeing people annihilate their lives in succor of such a rancid corpse which gives hardly enough to live off of and no credit when the final dues are paid. perhaps, in looking at it from a purely judgmental position, you can percieve the laxness of the union being in direct opposition to this lack of acknowledgment, however such a picture obscures the meaning since I can neither respect nor accept either position.
