So, it’s about time I wrote about some good things. Actually I have been a lot happier at the moment and a lot of fun things have occurred.
Last Saturday I went to see Les Mis with Wind Orch, it was amazing! I cried and cried, and if you’ve seen it I suppose you will get the poignancy etc, but enough about me crying I think. After, we were just wandering around soho when who should be eating a sandwich but Ralph Fiennes! He wouldn’t have a picture with us because he was eating the sandwich. The funniest thing was we were stood enthusiastically talking about it moments later, saying things like Voldemort really loudly, when he walked past us again! How embarrassing.
Ben and I also had the pleasure of the company on Friday of Pete and Kitty (on whose blog I featured the other day, specifically the incident in first year when I stood on a chair singing an entire album of Taylor Swift to an “unappreciative” audience. I mean really. Who hasn’t stood on a chair and sung an entire album? Especially back in my pre-drinking days. I digress. Constantly. I think it’s cost me a job or two in the past). As usual in our flat, approximately all of the athletics soc and various randoms were round at ours drinking. I met a guy who instead of saying “where’s Stoke” said I didn’t sound like I was from there (I don’t much - especially in that I don’t say “buke” for book etc - i do happily say “buzz” for that thing which never turns up, though.) We also had a laugh about the southern-heaviness of the uni, especially those lovely southerners who, I’m not even kidding, are like “there are places other than Surrey and Reading? In this country?” Sigh.
Term has essentially ended, so I see no harm in hopping up to Liv this week with James, in pretty much direct reciprocity to my birthday York trip (apart from a) it being a lack of surprise and b) it only being 1 whole month until birthday). Will be nice to have the opportunity to see Kat as well (one of these days I will possibly attempt to visit Ed too). Other things I am looking forward to are going home to mum’s cooking (“whats for lunch? Tuna and peas? Is that really all the food I have? Oh no, a bit of honey too...” is getting old - never mind the fact im averaging about a curry and half out each week this term :/) and my Christmas jumper which im told is nearly ready!
yay,
