Last night was my first time in a long time to really be out of the apartment and having fun. I went to eat savory raw fish at Midori sushi with Robin and Rachel. I tried the uhhh...oh i don't know what it's called....the little orange eggs sashimi and choked on it slightly, but it was good. I think the seaweed got stuck in my throat or something. Afterwards we went and saw "The Life Aquatic...", which I think I'll have to see again to form a better opinion. It was really funny and Robin thinks it's better than "The Royal Tennenbaums", but I'm not so sure just yet. I think I like each of them in their own way, although they are very similar, and at times I was waiting for Ben Stiller, Gene Hackman, and Gweneth Paltrow to make an appearance, but they never did. I was pleased to see the angst-filled high schoolers on the scene, the little dears. In the ticket line we overheard a sweet "grunge" boy asking a "preppy" girl if she wanted to see a movie with his friends. He was so shy about it and I wanted to hug him.
I also hung out with former roommate, Leslie, for a little while. She was watching "Maria, Full of Grace". I wanted to stay and finish it, but I felt tired and my stomach was upset because in the movie, a couple girls swallow pellets of cocaine and smuggle them into America, so I felt like I had pellets of cocaine in my stomach too. Is that weird?
Snug (the hermit crab I received as a Christmas present from Leslie) ate and drank for the first time in my presence last night, and as a result I am fascinated with him now.
Taylor will be here in a couple hours, so I should probably change out of my pajamas. Tonight will be fun...except I have to work tomorrow morning at 6:30. Maybe I won't sleep! :)
