(no subject)
Welp, another day, another dollar. Today was a mix of good and bad. This morning went by really quickly, which was good. However, because I am now housesitting, I have to drive to the house and let the dog out every day at lunch. Sometimes it has to go to the bathroom, sometimes it doesn't (and that's when I get annoyed). Anyway, today was the promotion ceremony for Dennis and Shirley (to Sergeant and Admin. Assist., respectively), so I needed to change into something nicer. Plus, I was mauled by the dog during lunch, requiring a fresh, non-hairy set of clothing. So I did the dog thing, changed clothes, attempted to eat some cup-o-noodle, but ended up being late getting back to work. I got back at about 1:08 or something and the entire office was empty. Little did I know, everyone had planned their rides and gone downtown for the promotion ceremony. Without me. Luckily, Darlonna was still there, so she called someone who was close enough to turn around and come back to get me. The promotion ceremony went well, but was very HOT because of the amount of people there. There was a deputy chief, 5 sergeants, and an administrative assistant being promoted today, which drew a large crowd of friends and family. I headed back to work with Mike, Kristene, and Gretchen, which was a good choice on my part being that we stopped at Wendy's for Frosty's (and lunch in my case) on the way back. We were the first ones back so of course we set off the alarm which we didn't know was on. It was weird only having 3 people in the office, but in a good way. Since everyone was gone, I had about 2 hours to answer the phones on my own, which ended up being pretty good practice. Now, I'm back to "hairy-land" for the evening. I can't wait for the weekend, since it's a three-day weekend and I get paid for having Monday off!! Freshmen are coming to PLU tomorrow! How exciting! For them. Bye for now.
