My life. Everything I go through and have felt and endured along the way usually makes for a good story. If it doesn't then the raw emotion from that makes for good poetry and I've learned some things sound better when left vague and decided by the readers imagination. Like leaving out names or certain events and just going for the general situation. Another thing that helps me is to forget that people are going to be reading it because then I tend to leave stuff out or edit my own personal self.
