Selena glared at the school owl as it edged closer to her again with another reply from that persistant Gryffindor. "Just fucking give it to me." she snapped grabbing the birds talon and taking the parchment. She rolled her eyes at the boys obvious excitement, Either this or listen to Noreen. I will try to be civil and get away from Lupin as ( Read more... )

"Oh, yes, very!" Remus burbled, noticing only in the back of his mind that he did, in fact, have to look up to meet Yaxley's eye. "Ready to go?"

Selena gave a mock smile down at the boys excitement, Just what I need... before she turned profile and began to walk again; inhaling her cigarette heavily. "It would surely look like it." she droned, completely disinterested.

Remus had to walk a bit briskly to keep up with her-- her legs were quite a bit longer, to his embarrassment-- but he enjoyed the crisp air as they went out onto the grounds. He avoided heading towards the lake, having some notion that that place should be for spending time with Sabrina, not Slytherins, but instead made way towards the edge of the Forbidden Forest, near the Whomping Willow.

He walked in silence for a bit, simply reveling in the winter air and the stillness outside, but finally the tobacco smoke got to him, and jerked him out of his reverie. "That's not good for you, you know," he remarked casually.

"Neither is chocolate, yet you seem to be quite the fucking glutton of it." she snapped back; smoking helped to relax her, so what if it would eventully kill her, she was going to die sooner or later anyways.

"Chocolate is much less habit-forming (though I do admit it's addictive and etcetera), and is a mild opiate-- it makes me happy, and is much tastier than the sorts of anti-depressant potions most Healers I know what to prescribe to me. Besides," he added, somewhat indignantly, "Madame Pomfrey recommended I eat more chocolate-- It's a health concern."

"Well, these fags do the same fucking thing for me. Why should you get to judge me if I can't counter?" she dug her feet into the snow and glared down at him damn is he ever short.

"They're slowly killing you. Life is short enough without giving it a head start." Remus had very little to actually say on this matter, but he disapproved strongly of Yaxley's habit, and couldn't not say so.

"I've never planned on a long life anyways." Selena took a final drag of her cigarette before throwing it to the snow and killing it beneath her boot. "There, I'm fucking done fa- mother." she sneered and sadly ignored her craving for another.

Remus frowned, but found he had no good reply to that, so he simply let it slide by, unnoticed. He paused in his tracks to pick up the cigarrette stub and dispose of it with a quick "Evanesco," but didn't mention the littering, either. He simply moved to continue on, their path now meandering in the vicinity of Hagrid's cabin, and slightly away from the Willow... but closer to the forest.

Remus was not afraid of the forest; the Forbidden Forest was afraid of him. He guessed that the forest, with its deep-rooted ancient magic, sensed the Dark Magic on him and naturally drew back. Whenever he walked in the forest, it was unnaturally still and empty, and the trees themselves seemed to get out of the way. So it never really occurred to him that it was something to avoid, and they were now skirting its edge quite tightly.

"Ever been in there?" he asked.

A smirk took over Selena's lips when Remus took care of her trash, it was like have a little lap dog, one that was crossed with a parrot. They continued on their path past Ogg'd hut and closer to the forbidden forest. Selena eyes grew wide for a second before she caught herself and regain her 'cool'.

"Yes, and it's rather shitty and boring." she lied having never been in the forest before. She would never admit that she was afraid of the mysterious woods; even if it was only for the supposed werewolves that resided in there.

"I think it's a nice peaceful place for a walk, and it's just so pretty when it's all snowed over like this, don't you think?" He turned into the forest without any real warning, a serene smile in place. When he realized that Yaxley was hesitating, he turned and beckoned.

"Come on, it's safe."

Was he actually going in there? Selena had to give the boy credit as he was gustsy; either that or her suffered from severe idiocy. She turned her head to gulp and try to calm her stirring stomache before following him in.

"Safe? Kid, don't you know that there are werewolf's in this forest?" she tried to scare Remus into chickening out and returning to the school grounds.

"I know for a fact that that is a lie. Whoever told you that should be ashamed of themselves," Remus snapped, not looking at her. "Besides, it's nowhere near full moon. They're only dangerous one night every month, you know."

Selena hid her great sigh of relief behind a snip remark, "Uh, you're such a fucking brainer, you Ravenclaws are all fucking alike; over confident in your brain cell count."

"I thought I told you, I'm in Gryffindor," Remus frowned. Apparently the bright gold-and-scarlet scarf wrapped around his neck wasn't enough of a hint, nor the constant references to Gryffindor Tower. Did he really seem that much like a Ravenclaw? Not that the assumption was a bad thing, just... well, would a Ravenclaw consider a nice walk in the Forbidden Forest a good way to pass the time?

"Really?" she looked down at his scarf which seemed to confirm his defense, "Hm, well that certainly explains your obnoxious persistancy." Selena had never actually paid attention to any of the comments the newly discovered gryffindor boy had written; she had spent the whole time trying to get rid of him and not learning the little details. The idea of walking around with a gryffindor was even worse then the thought of her walking with a ravenclaw; oh this was going to be disasterous.
