This probably will never come up for most people, but if you are ever in the position to not have instant ramen, but do have a reasonably-stocked kitchen, here's a recipe for making quick and easy ramen soup.
First off, put on the water for your noodles to boil. Use whatever noodles are handy, I like angel hair.
Second, mince a scallion or some onion or green onions up. Throw them in a (different) pot with some minced garlic and a bit of sesame oil, and saute until they start to brown and there's a nice bit of color on the bottom of the pot.
Pour in about two cups of very hot water; it should sizzle nicely as it deglazes the pan. Throw in two cubes of chicken boullion, and if you have it some miso paste and/or dashi powder. (Alternately, use two cups of chicken stock, dashi stock, beef consomme, etc. to deglaze the pot for your broth.)
The water for noodles should be boiling now. Turn the broth down low to simmer, and throw your noodles (and any veggies) in to cook. Simmer longer if you like your broth really strong - you can always add water back later if it gets too dense.
Once the noodles (and veggies) are done, put them in a bowl, pour the broth over it, and add soy sauce to taste. If you want pretty clear broth and have cheese cloth or similar handy, you can strain it, but I just let it settle, pour off the top and call it good.
Unrelatedly, Epic Mickey is living up to the concept art hype. The fucking dolls in the It's A Small World stages, I turn around and they're just THERE and THEY STARE AT ME OH GOD. And yet I feel guilty about smashing them. Especially the Japanese ones in little kimonos, I just want to take them all home and fix them up. They're like all Little Match Girl looking at me pathetically and WHY CAN'T I FIX THEM. Except for the one bunch (They were supposed to be Chinese, I think? It's not like they have the most accurate costuming.) on the spinning gears with the evil glowing eyes I smashed them all just to make them go away because EVIL.
Also, I still suck at platforming, damn it the enemies don't kill me but falling off things sure does.
Also also, there are definitely some subtle Kingdom Hearts references in there at the beginning, interested to see if there will be more.
Off to go play until I'm too scared of the dark to go up through the dark house to my bed.
