I am such a geek. So for my course on manuscripts we have to create a four-page illuminated manuscript, using any text we want... Three guesses whose poetry I chose, and the first two don't count.
Yup, Tolkien. The question is which poem. At this point I'm leaning towards The Fall of Gil-Galad. In parallel text, with the Sindarin in the top half of the page and the English in the bottom half of the page. It's only three stanzas, so the first page is going to be a title page of sorts. I am geeking out so much, I forgot how gleeful I got over this stuff. I just have to avoid the elvish melancholy. This means I'm looking up things like the heraldry of Gil-Galad and how to write Gil-Galad in proper tengwar for my title page. Even geekier (if possible) I'd totally write the Sindarin text in Tengwar if a) I had the time to spend transliterating it all and b) my Tengwar wasn't really rusty, and I don't want to ruin the manuscript by having half the text look like crap when the English text is flawless from years of practice.
Also, for anyone who feels like chatting, I'm on AIM as yavieriel7. I've downloaded Digsby, so if you're on a different IM service and want to chat, let me know and I'll add it. I'm not on a lot, and sometimes I forget I have it up, but if you manage to catch me I'll be happy to chat. Muriah, I'll add MSN pretty soon here, I just need to actually be productive today first.
