Photo blogging the summer

Jun 06, 2010 20:08

I thought I'd challenge myself with keeping a photo blog of sorts this summer. I have no idea what it may turn into, but I'll be posting pics and comments of my summer days here and/or over at the almost-long-dead Pool. It may turn out I will post often, it may turn I will post rarely. Who knows. Certainly not I. Make no promises, break no promises. (Plus, I'm not saying anything about the quality of the pictures, either!)

I'll start with this one:

Summer vacation begins with a semi messy desk at home. Two piles of work papers and newspaper clippings and whatnot are crowding one corner of my otherwise quite uncluttered desk. Cleaning these will hopefully little by little rid me of this school year's stress and worries - There have been plenty of both this year! However, cleaning is a nice ritual to start a vacation with. Makes me feel I'm in control of my life again, as during the school year it mostly feels someone or something else is controlling me and my time. Organising papers and tidying up is a much needed coup d'état. For ten weeks I'll be in control! (See how the golf rule book has already snuck up on the work stuff, very appropriately.)
