Twenty-fifth Steal || Video/Action
[IT IS A FINE DAY IN JOHTO, but then again, when is it never a nice day? Not counting deadly floods or nightmare-inducing Pokemon or pixelated terrors, of course. It seems like a good day for Keith, the rookie officer of Goldenrod, to take a stroll down Route 34.
Which is exactly what he is doing! And looking rather pleased with himself as he does so, too. Poor Keith. He has no idea what's in store for him.]
[But what's in store for him seems to be only an innocuous-seeming girl in her usual outfit, trotting energetically his way with an Umbreon close to her heels-- it looks like someone's Eevee finally evolved. As she nears him, she waves an arm over her head.]
Hey, officer! How's the patrol going?
[Keith stops and blinks at the approaching girl a few times, before recognition washes over his features and he waves back in return]
Better, especially now that I've been jogging every single morning! [he stops and jogs in place to illustrate this] No hooligans will get away from me on my watch anymore!
[Kay observes this, nodding appreciatively like a true supporter of the fine and righteous law. Or of staying in shape, she's not clarifying.]
That's good! I bet that-- uh, hooligan that got away last time won't stand a chance against you now!
Of course not! [insert enthusiastic fist pump from Officer Keith here] The next time I see him loitering around suspiciously at night, I'll show him what the law can really do!
[It's about this time that a third person come sliding suspiciously into the video, an Espeon following closely behind her. Do a double-take, Route. That third person looks almost EXACTLY like Kay, right down to the lengthy ponytail. Looks like Keith hasn't noticed her yet. Yet being the key word.
Kay notices her, of course, but oddly enough, she doesn't seem perturbed at all. In fact, she's blithely continuing her conversation with the soon-to-be-unfortunate officer. Her next words take on a hint of flair, however-- almost like she's about to perform.]
It's too bad there's not two of you around. You could get a whole lot covered with double the skill!
[Keith's expression lights up at her idea, as though he thinks it's the most brilliant thing in the world] That would be incredibly efficient! I wonder if that's possible...
[The second Kay chimes in before anyone else can speak, with the same tone, inflection, and mischievousness the first Kay spoke in seconds earlier] Anything's possible if you think about it enough~
[At this point, Keith whips around to face Kay 2.0. As predicted, his expression is slack with surprise and shock. AM I SEEING DOUBLE?!
And the minute Keith turns, the other Kay speaks cheerfully as she reaches down to rub the Umbreon's ears.]
You've just got to keep an open mind, that's all~!
[Keith whips around to face Kay 1.0 as she speaks. Kay 2.0 opens her arms and allows the Espeon to leap into them, before she sidles up next to her twin]
Things are much easier to understand when you do that. Right, Kay? [the Umbreon's ears perk at the sound of his name, but Kay 2.0 shakes her head] Not you, silly.
[Meanwhile, Keith is stiiiiiill gaping]

[The Umbreon looks towards her, and she grins and scoops him up, leaning comfortably against her double.] Not you again, sorry.
[Poor Keith. Kay 2.0 returns the leaning with a grin, before she nods at Keith] He looks a little surprised. You think he needs a few more lessons before he understands?
[Keith, in the meantime, swallows and points at the twins with one shaky finger] H-how--?!
Maybe, but I don't want to make it too easy for him. [Kay 1.0's grin could not possibly get any more playful, and by now, it's pretty uncanny at just how much alike they look. Almost like a Ditto effect, even, but since when was a Ditto THIS good?] After all...
[The Umbreon and Espeon touch noses, highly comfortable with the irregular situation that's taking place here, and she shifts the former to pass him over to her twin.]

[Kay 2.0 gladly passes the Espeon over to Kay 1.0, taking the Umbreon into her arms and fluffing his ears affectionately] And the Yatagarasu always works in shadow!
[At this point, the video feed shakes a bit, and one might be able to hear a Gengar laughing behind the camera. So thaaaaat's who was recording.
And Keith, poor Keith whose day started off so well, just quietly sobs in the background]
