Going to Dragoncon
Tomorrow I am taking off for Dragoncon in Atlanta with selectyourplaye, picking up hellblazer99 along the way. jennstar is also coming down, and once we're there we'll meet up with all sorts of fun people like chasinbutterfly and mrbedpost.
This is the first big con I've been too (and the only the second con of any size), so I'm excited (costumes... long weekend... drinking... running around... in costumes!) but I'm also worried about getting down there and back. But we've already invested way too much money and time to pull out now.
These are the costumes I'll be taking, complete with a link to visual aids for your convenience:
Cir-El, a now defunct Supergirl... she doesn't always look that manly. I don't always look that manly. I hope. Do I?
Ace/Royal Flush Gang, for the slumber party
Street Angel, the 13 year old homeless skateboarder/crime fighter... mine won't be as cool as Nicole's but hey it'll still be fun.... I BETTER NOT FORGET TO PACK MY SKATEBOARD
Elsa von Spielburg from the computer game Heroes Quest/Quest For Glory I... while she's still the brigand leader more so than the baron's daughter... I was obsessed with this game when I was 9... 9 and up... this was my costume last Halloween, too
Roland/The Gunslinger from Steven King's Dark Tower series (taken with extra creative liberties, but hey he's from a book....)
AAAAAAAAAAAND the one I'm most excited about
Westley from The Princess Bride... after he became the Dread Pirate Roberts and before the aaaaaaaaaaaas-yoooooooouuuuuuuuuuu-wiiiiiiiiiiiiiishhhhhhh tumble downhill
So that's what I got. selectyourplaye has his list here. A lot of my costumes were thrown together more or less last minute and on limited funds... so I wish they were cooler, but I like swaggering around in a gun belt, even if it does have plastic holders.
We will take cameras and bring back lots of pictures!
