So yesterday I went to Water Country with some of the guys from ConOps (Kristen, Nick and Jeff) and one particular guy from SecOps (he who must not be named. ^_^ Eric...) . OH MY GOD was it fun. I've never laughed so hard (and gone close to dying!) in my LIFE. By the time I got home I felt tired, but I could barely sleep at the thought of Eric P. eating chicken tenders from Bugaboo Creek. We went on most of the slides and rides (including the Geronimo and the new Red Dragon ride), and shared a good bout of food. I got a tan (I noticed the bathing suit lines this morning before I went to the bathtub today!) and just had a really fun time.
Afterwards, we went to Bugaboo Creek and had a HORRIBLE dinner, on top of tht bad service I had such a horrible headache that it made it hard to enjoy the meal. Thank goodness for Kristen, who provided me with some relief in those two ibuprofens she provided. I felt a ton better.
What happened after that was even more hilarious, and since it's something that only I experienced with Eric, I will divulge it.
Nick and Jeff went in Kristen's car, and Eric gave me a ride home. He was still really disappointed that he couldn't go to the Macaroni Grill, and he had a really huge craving for ice cream. I told him that I did too, and the minute we got to Methuen, he asked where the nearest ice cream place was (we had a nice conversation the whole way down too!). I directed him to the closest Baskin Robbins down on route 28. As I opened the back door to get my purse, the food that I had barely touched at Bugaboo Creek feel to the pavement, spilling over the parking lot. I looked at it in shock, because I was hoping to save it for lunch tomorrow. Eric came over and looked at me, then looked at the chicken tenders and fries - and picked it up, putting it back in the container...
Eric: You can still eat it.
Lupe: No you can't! It's on the pavement! We can throw it away when we get inside...
Eric: No, no...I'll eat it.
Lupe: WHAT?!?!?!
...and he put it back in the car (fries and sauces included!). I couldn't believe it!!! FREAKED ME OUT! The damn food was on the pavement, with poop and sand and dirt and oil and all the stuff that comes out of cars; he's going to eat it anyway.
So we go into Baskin Robbins and we realize that they don't have alot of choices; the woman there said that someone at the store messed up on the order so they would be short on ice cream all week. I asked Eric if we could leave since there weren't many choices, and we did.
He still wanted ice cream so I asked him if we could try one more place before he gave up, and he agreed. After many winding turns, we ended up Findestein Farms Ice Cream Shoppe on Jackson Street, a pretty popular hang out for my friends and I back in high school (and it still kinda is!) It was close to 10pm at this point, and from the windows you could see that they were cleaning up the shoppe. Eric parked and then saw the lights flicker. He told me to not even bother because they were closed. I got up out of the car, and I could see that Eric just groaned, and put his head on the window of the car as if he were frustrated that I even wanted to check to see if they could still serve us. I looked over at the shoppe and walked up, and as I did I saw someone familiar mopping the floors. It was someone from Methuen High!!! I ran over and introduced myself. She already knew who I was, and we had a short conversation. I asked her if she could still take me and a friend, and she did. Eric had a vanilla frozen yogurt, and I had cookie dough ice cream.
The portion sizes at Findestein's are HUGE (baby, small and large), and Eric had this super funny reaction when he saw what his size 'small' vanilla frozen yogurt looked like. Even though they gave him a spoon, he immediately started to lick chunks of the frozen yogurt with his mouth, as if he were hungrily eating from a waffle cone (they were served to us in a cup). A family comprised of three women saw that we had ordered and asked if they could be taken as well, and the attendee also said yes to them. Eric proclaimed, "This has to be the BEST ice cream I've ever tasted in my entire life!" and the women started laughing and talking to him about how often they frequent this shoppe and how glad they were to make it on time to order something. The ice cream was so huge that after eating just the part that overflowed from the cup, Eric told me that he was stuffed. He talked about how he wished that we could have gone to the Macaroni Grill instead and then enjoyed the awesome ice cream (which he said he'd make another trek for sometime, muahahaha) but...it had to be, I guess. I wished that we could as well, but I felt bad for oversleeping in the car and missing the exit in order to get here. Eric drove me home fast so that he could make it home in time to put the ice cream in the freezer and save it for later, and I got home in time to stick it in the freezer for later (I was still full, and Eric had more of my ice cream than I did!).
Now comes the bad part about this night: I think I left the Mai-Hime DVD - in Eric's car this time. ^_^
Damn!
