A Future to Look Forward To

This is a song I could've sang for maaany many years (if it had been out). I thank God that I'm not able to sing this song now. Hopefully I'll never be able to sing it. I did indeed walk the city streets alone at night for many years. Not just in a literal way, but also in a metaphorical way. I had no hope, no friends (in my mind), and nothing to look forward to. All I did was my "job" - my "duty", and got my money. I used to think that money made the world go 'round. I'm going to compare this to a Wolf's point of view because they're something I understand well and because they're my favorite.

There are many people termed "Lone Wolves", "Loners", etc. In reality a Wolf cannot survive without a pack. A Wolf lives for its pack; it will give up its life for it if it must. In the end, this is how it is even with people. Everyone has someone or something to live for. If they don't, then they are just shallow souls without reason to live... and most of them don't survive. I was termed a "Lone Wolf" for many years; I still am. However, I do have a pack. It's a small pack, but it's a pack nonetheless, and I couldn't have asked for a better one.

If you live for money, then you're just going to find yourself in poverty; both in the physical world and in the mind. You'll find yourself alone. You'll find that a majority of people don't like you, and those that do are using you. It's a sad way to live. There are those that aren't liked by people even though they live for others (me for instance), but people like that have others to live for - people worthy of living for. I wrote this as an inspirational entry for those who feel like they have nothing to live for. If you're reading my LJ, then chances are I'm living for you as well. So you do have something to live for; your friend.
