Chris, Sahara, and Hoof, and I all went to the car show the other day.
First, almost every maker had an electric or a hybrid car. Even some of the 'exotic' lines had them. Those few that didn't, usually had another 'alternative' system, like 'green diesel' power.
Second, a lot of makers seemed to be 'downsizing' their cars. I am slightly taller than average, and one of the reason that I go to these shows, is to try sitting in a lot of different cars, and see what I fit into. While most of the cars had adequate legroom, an amazing percentage had low 'door frames' that made me duck my head down way too much, to get in and out. Fail.
Third, radio 'GUIs'. UGH!!! Most of the user interfaces for the stereo systems in these cars need a serious 'interface overhaul' to make them simpler. We are supposed to be driving, not pulling down menues. In many cases, I imagine that you can 'set up' the interface for your preferences and get to to the point that you only need to push a few buttons to get to what you want. But then every time you disconnect the battery...
Finally, It is a good feeling when you go to a show like this, and come away very happy with what I already have. ;-)
