(no subject)
So, last night, Chris and I were coming back to the house about 9-ish. As we drive up close to the house, I see a coyote in the yard. They are not all that rare around here, and they usually run away when we get close. This one didn't.
But as we start to pull in the driveway, I see what the 'yote is interested in.
He has a skunk cornered... In our driveway... Right next to our living room window... That is open due to the heat. And the skunk has his tail raised and ready.
So, we now are in the car at the entrance to our driveway, and in our headlights we have a coyote and a skunk about 6 feet away from each other, and they are _not_ moving for us. And if the skunk decides to spray, our whole house gets gassed...
I had to move the car closer and honk the horn before they broke their standoff and ran off in opposite directions...
Whew, no leftover skunk odor to deal with.
Minor wildlife drama, in the 'burbs.
