1984 irl

It's official.
Sweden sucks.
Today the Government voted on a law that gives them access to all data traffic and phone traffic that passes the Swedish borders. 143 voted pro, 138 con, it's enough. Meaning they could very well be reading this as soon as I post it.
What the politicians hopefully don't realized is that they've now effectively given our military the right to listen in on other countries as a lot of traffic passes through Sweden.
They say the law is good to prevent terrorism and other crimes, but please, who uses a phone and computer to plot a crime. Is it so impossible to meet each other irl? And don't they think they would use some sort of encryption if they actually decided to use the internet?
And they say that private persons won't suffer from this, fuck them I say. Even the traffic that goes from one part of Sweden to another will often pass through another country. I thought Sweden had some sort of confidentiality law of integrity. Obviously not.
And don't think you're safe from the new Swedish law either. Google has servers in Sweden, meaning a lot of their traffic passes through the Swedish borders and you're eligible to watch (according to the weird law apparently).
Finland do have an integrity law, and because of it, we probably won't be able to reach our neighbours in Finland as they will probably block all Swedish traffic.
If we're lucky, we won't be completely shut off from the other countries as they realize this and want to protect their own people. Maybe that would actually be for the better and the stupid Government could vote to destroy the law. Not that I'm sure they would anymore. Never trust politicians.

A new China, anyone? A real 1984? This has no place in the world, not in Sweden nor anywhere else. If this is the first step, how far will it go?
