NEWS Live Tour 2013 - Sunday Night Report

Jul 29, 2013 00:37

We got our full concert tonight!

It rained a bit before the concert, but the show started on time with "Compass". It was still raining lightly during "World Quest", but the boys performed it perfectly.

In "Chankapana", they said their usual lines, but Tegoshi was trying his best to be sexy whenever he could.

He came over to our side for "4+Fan".

K: You came!! Today we'll make this a special show that you'll never forget. When are we gonna have fun?

Us: Ima deshou!!

M: Thank you for coming! I'm so happy you're all here!

S: Yesterday it might have rained, and it's raining now. But for us, that doesn't matter! Let's have some fun!

T: Tegonyan is here! Did you come for another date? Let's make it better than yesterday and spread some more love!

Everyone changed outfits and headed for the back stage for "Nagisa no Onee Summer". Massu searched for the camera to sing "kocchi muite" to it.

In "Beach Angel", Tegoshi and Massu got close together to sing to the crowd. It was still raining but the juniors came out too.

We got our towels ready for "Koi Matsuri" and Massu was in front of us, swinging it around for all he was worth. Shige and Kei-chan shared a half hug too in this song.

They hopped on the small moving stages for "Full Swing". It was still sprinkling at that point. Shige and Massu were sitting down until their stages joined together. The two of them flung out their arms and hugged tightly. Kei and Tegoshi did the same hug from behind and kiss on the cheek as yesterday.

The rain was letting up when the marching band arrived for the band numbers, "Good News", "NEWS Nippon", and "Kibou". Kei made sure to blow a kiss to the crowd then. After "Taiyou no Namida", Kei thanked the marching band for coming yesterday and today.

"Pokopon Pekorya" was as adorable as ever. Massu didn't do his silly cute voice, but he talked about that later. Shige and Massu were waving to our section as they went by in "Endless Summer".

I discovered tonight that the guys split off into pairs to do their cute mini dance of bowing and reaching out for each other. The couples were Massu and Kei and then Tegoshi and Shige. They both spun around and then hugged. I think it was Massu who forgot his first line in "Greedier" and we laughed at the fact that he'd completely forgotten it was supposed to be him singing.

The rain had finally stopped right before Massu "Remedy" solo. I just love this song and the moves he does.

For the accent dance, Tegoshi was being cute, Shige put his hood up, but sort of failed at looking cool, Kei was sexy as last night, and Massu barely made it in time, riding a cart from center stage to join the others. "Shock Me" was energetic, but Massu got us jumping right before "Be Funky!". Kei-chan swung around the same junior from last night. Right at the end of the song, Massu was the first one down, followed quickly by Kei.

K: Everyone, are you having fun?! This is great, isn't it? It's just all of us here together that can understand this feeling.

T: It's as if we're one.

K: We're NEWS!

S: I kinda feel like it's deja vu.

K: Yeah, we've seen you all before somewhere.

We laughed at their joking.

K: Yesterday we had that heavy rain and normally, if it'd just been the rain, we would have kept going. But the lightning made us call off the show. Thank you for coming once again.

We cheered.

K: We heard that yesterday while everyone was leaving the stadium that some fans started feeling bad and that it was fans that helped them out. Thank you so much for that.

M: We know that some people weren't able to come toda-. (He fumbled his words.) Our tenth anniversary is coming up and we hope that today you'll all have a lot of fun.

S: This may be very sudden, but I feel full of so many different emotions. Shige-chan is filled with emotion. Shige-chan really is.

We laughed at him. Then it happened! Again! Kei-chan spit out the drink he'd just sipped. Right on Massu's shoulder.

S: Oh! I'm having deja vu again.

K: Oi!! I know it was you!! I know this flavor!

But just then, Tegoshi spit out his drink too, making a disgusted face.

S: Wait! Eh?!

T: It's so gross! Wait a minute....

K: Wait!

Kei braved his drink once more and gagged, giving us his "AH!" face.

T: Wait, then who was it?

K: It was you!

T: No, no, no.

Noticing that Massu and Shige were avoiding looking at them, Kei exclaimed, "Oi!! You guys!"

They were both making faces that said, "I don't know what you're talking about. I have nothing to do with this."

T: Which one did it?

Tegoshi was accusing them angrily, but Kei just told then, "I'm used to getting bullied, so I don't really care."

Then Massu and Shige exchanged a long, silly high five.

K: Damn! It's exhausting to get picked on.

M: You may not know it, but Kei-chan went and spit his drink out on my shoulder. It's gross and sticky!

We laughed cuz Kei could have cared less that his prank had sort of backfired. Massu announced what they'd put into Tegoshi's drink, saying it was a mixture of herb tea, umeboshis, and amino acid. He started singing his random theme music for "three minute cooking" again. Tegoshi attempted to whisper out a raspy "thank you" for the drink.

M: You know in "Pokopon" that cuz you guys were messing around that I didn't get to my cute version.

K: What? We were just going "Po, po, po, po, po~!"

M: Mine is usually in a high voice, but it ended up like Shige's hoarse singing instead.

Shige retorted that he didn't sound that bad, so they made him prove it by singing that part cutely. He started out in a high voice, but gave up with the words part way through and just sang "dah, dah, dah, dah" until he got close to the end of the line and he went completely off-key, belting out "pon, pon, pon~!"

K: That was a "Kato accident".

S: What are you talking about? I'm feeling great. Although yesterday, after we spent all that time saying for everyone to be careful and not catch colds, the second I got back to the dressing room, I sneezed.

Immediately, they took turns doing impressions of Shige's cute sneeze from yesterday, but Kei didn't even try to make his cute at all, snuffling out this long, terrible sounding sneeze.

S: Also, you know how we used the bath tubs last night? There were two of them, right? Well, normally we'd just take turns, but not that time. First Tegoshi was in one... How about we show them?

Tegoshi and Massu acted out going into the bathroom and climbing into two separate tubs, facing each other.

S: We were debating about taking showers, but then HE goes....

Kei shuffled forward and told us, "I said, 'Me too.' And Massu was nice and said, 'Come on in.' It was sort of embarrassing, but we did it. We just barely fit in it together. Then this happened..."

Shige pretended to climb into the "tub" with Tegoshi. "We were Team... What was it again?"

T: Team "We haven't done our solos yet".

K: But then Massu got hot, so he stuck his feet into the air like this.

Kei-chan showed us how unflattering it had looked for Massu to have both his feet up, laid back in the tub. "It was sort of weird."

S: And Tegoshi was sliding all over the place and smacking into me. He was such a naughty guy.

T: It couldn't be helped. It's slippery.

K: But baths are nice, aren't they?

Shige answered in a chill voice, "Yeah, they're great."

K: What's with this MC? Is it really alright? I'm sort of worried.

They were almost done with their bath skit and Shige said that he hoped we would also be careful going home today too, not like it was just a one time thing. Then Tegoshi and the others started repeating his line several time until Massu sang it out, making them all laugh. Kei and Shige dissolved into giggles, which made them laugh harder. Shige was reminded of how they sometimes sing in the bathroom and poked Kei into singing his usual line, which was "Hanashitaku wa nai~~~~~!"

K: It's cuz your voice echoes in the bathroom the best.

T: Yeah, it feels good. Earlier, Shige was singing "Higher Ground".

S: Normally you'd practice songs you want to sing in the bathtub...

M: Like "Mahou no Melody".

K: What's that one sound like? Try singing it.

We cheered.

Massu started singing it and Tegoshi joined in. Right as they finished, Kei sang out "Hanashitaku wa nai~" loudly. Shige joined in by singing it too, but Kei-chan quickly cut him off. "Stop! I've already been wounded enough for tonight. Let's get out of the bath."

T: So many of you came again tonight. It's amazing.

K: Some people couldn't go home easily and had to find hotels. Some had to change their schedules just to come. So thank you. For NEWS, this was very special to us.

T: This is a great feeling.

S: Koyama, you should probably get ready soon.

They tried to shoo him off the stage to prepare for his solo.

S: If it starts raining, we won't forgive you!

M: We won't let you sing.

K: Don't say that! I'll bow down on the ground, so let me do it!

The three of them pretended to have a meeting about what to do while making weird gestures, so Kei cried out, "Let me sing!" again.

T: Then you have to give us an impression of Taka no Hana.

Kei sang out, "Later~".

Shige switched the impression to Ashida Mana, and then Massu added Johnny-san. Trying his best, Kei spoke in a slow pace and begged them to let him sing. He said in a girly voice, "I'm Ashida Mana. I'm gonna be 30 years old soon." We snickered, but at our reaction, he hesitated, trying to think of something else. "Going into my solo like this is isn't good for my mentality."

T: The time you have to sing your solo is getting shorter and shorter.

Kei gave up and went to leave, but with Shige's remark of "Make sure you do it properly", he came back to glare at him.

T: On "Every", it'd be nice if they used the bath tub scene. Oh, that's right. Kei-chan said that he'd re-dye his hair black and go on "Every".

S: He was supposed to do it today.

M: How about Tegoshi dyes his hair black? And do a mohawk or a perm?

T: Why?! Why me!? No way! How about you two? Will you cut your hair?

M: Nope.

T: There was a time when NEWS had a "black hair" boom. Everyone but me had black hair then, right?

M&S: .....

T: Answer me!

M: Well Shige's natural hair color is really black too.

For some reason, Massu found that imagery funny and started giggling, but it was a scary one and Shige backed away from him.

M: Ah! That's right! We should do something with the penlights. Whoever doesn't have one, just wave a lot.

He started to explain how he wanted us to turn them on like a wave starting from one end and slowly working our way around the stadium.

K: Hey! I haven't seen something like that before!

He was still backstage.

T: Then check it on the concert DVD.

K: But I really want to see it!

M: But you're getting ready.

K: I finished changing.

T: Then get out here.

Kei was happy he'd get to see it in person and Massu went back to explain where to start and where to go. When he got to the arena's part, he sang out "Arena~~" to them.

S: Let's do it then.

M: First, turn them all off. And staff, can you dim the lights?

The building right behind the stadium still had some office windows with their lights on, so Massu bossily ordered someone to turn them out, not like anyone could have heard him anyway.

On their sign, the fans started turning on their penlights, starting from one end of the stadium, slowly making it's way around the whole place. It was ve~~~~~ry pretty.

K: It's gorgeous! I love it! It's wonderful!

S: So pretty! They have the sense for it.

K: That's the first time I got to see something like this.

S: "Beautiful!" (In English)

Us: Whooooo!!!

Right as it got to the end, Shige told us to turn them on the blinking mode.

K: It's like a starry sky!

They thanked everyone for their cooperation.

M: Then let's go on to the next song.

K: Let me sing! NEWS, NEWS, I'm part of NEWS too!

T: Next is this beautiful song by Kei-chan.

Kei pulled off his solo, "Beautiful Rain", perfectly. They continued into the second half with the ballad of "Ichioku Sanzenman Bun no Futari no Kiseki" and the slightly jazzy version of "Summer Time". They sat on the edge of the stage again.

For "Cherish", the fans did the hand gestures and sang along for part of it.

At center stage, Shige came out in his pink suit with a bunch of back dancers. At a stand mic, he sang "Dreamcatcher" along with the video version of himself that played on the screens at the appropriate times. The video Shige had blonder hair though. He and the dancers pulled out large handkerchieves for a bit of the dance. At the end, he whispered "Good night" to us.

Then came a surprise for us! To our right, in the section just over from ours, there was Tegoshi! He sang "Lovin' U" from the middle of the stands. He looked very chic with his red guitar. My impression of this song improved about a thousand times after hearing it live. The guitar made it sound better to me. Of course, he looked great too! He thanked us for listening, then climbed down from his small stage.

Next was a short video before "Liar". It showed the members walking passed each other, then focused in on each one. Kei looked very sexy swiping his thumb across his bottom lip. Tegoshi opened his shirt to show his chest and gave a sweet smile. Massu's neck and Shige's lips looked very attractive too. Dancers in red came out on the front stage and after fireworks startled us, the boys popped out too. They were in very glittery suits. My favorite part of the dancing would have been the hip thrusts. Shige, Kei, and Massu switched off on the rapping parts. They moved to the center stage where metal chairs were waiting for them.

"Besame Mucho" also had a sexy move when the members kiss their knuckles. They danced sitting in the chairs, around the chairs, and even standing on them.

The stage rose up for "Dance in the Dark". This was a hard dance number that certainly got our attention. Not only were their hip thrusts in this one too, but Kei had an incredibly erotic moment when the camera zoomed in on his fingers brushing past his crotch. Why does he try to kill us with his sexiness?! What was even worse for my heart was that after he and Tegoshi sang their duet, Kei aggressively growled out "Anata wa don't say no!" Shige's heavy panting was lovely too. There's also a cute move for "mystery love" where they hide their faces with their hands. To finish, Tegoshi gave us an evil little laugh.

Masu came to entertain us for "Fighting Man", then Shige came by for "Koi no ABO". And I mean literally right by! They set up the carts to go along the upper pathway of the stands on both the east and west sides. My row was only a few away from where they passed by, which put us right at eye level with them! They were so close!!! When they were running up the stairs to get to the carts, they skipped a few of the verses.

First Shige went by us. (I'm glad that I managed to make eye contact with him!) When Tegoshi and Kei were switching carts to go in opposite directions, Tegoshi changed part of the lyrics to "Kei-chan's butt" and gave it a smack. When someone forgot their line in the song, Tegoshi yelled out, "Who is it?!" Shige and Massu switched carts too, so next to visit us was Massu. He blew us all a big kiss. But the most amazing part was that the section of the song where they stop the carts to sing one of the choruses, it was right smack in front of us!! Massu was barely five feet away! He had fun singing to us and playing around. Part of the dance has him ducking down in the cart, then standing up slowly. He did it for us twice, giving us this awesome self-satified smile afterwards.

As "weeeek" began, the cart moved on and he waved frantically to everyone. They each started to go back to the side runways, but on the stairs surrounded by fans, Kei shouted playfully, "Oi! Who touched my butt?!"

It wasn't until "Higher Ground" that I finally noticed they'd been doing an interesting laser show around the border of the neighboring building. The member's shapes and "NEWS" were moving up and down, flashing off and on. They were all very energetic for this song and at one point Massu got off-beat.

At center stage, they began their speeches. They'd taken off their glitter jackets, all wearing black shirts under them.

T: Thank you. It's hot, isn't it? I know that because of the rain yesterday there are some people who weren't able to come, but the cheers you've given us and the messages we wanted to tell them, to the people who cried when they knew they couldn't come, I think that these feelings will reach them too. The reason I can feel like this is because our NEWS fans are the best. Thank you so much.

Because it rained yesterday, I think that even more than we realize, it was harder on all of you. Many people had to find places to stay and rearrange their schedules. The four of us were worried and thinking what we should do if when we came out only half of the audience was there. But during "World Quest" when we got on the stage, somehow we were touched in a different way than last year when we came out at Chichibu stadium and it made me think again that all of us together are invincible.

We've got a new album and a tour coming up. You don't sometimes think it's too much, do you? Like we shouldn't be trying so hard? (Us: No!) Then we'll try our best. We'll take your love and make it a challenge. We won't lose!

Shige came out giggling right from the start because we shouted his name.

S: A year ago, you called me like that too. But that it's been a year since then... it's strange. All of us were very frustrated by what happened yesterday, but I feel that like yesterday, all the different things we go through, are all walls that we have to overcome. If it's possible, I'd like it if we could overcome those barriers together with you from now on. In September, it'll be our tenth anniversary. The four of us, this current NEWS, to tell the truth, I have confidence in it. That's why I want to make the best memories that we can with you. I love you all.

Massu was sitting on the edge of the stage and when we called his name next, he asked us casually, "What?"

M: Thank you for coming today. And thank you for the clear weather! I'd always believed that I was a "hare otoko" (sun bringer), so I was frustrated at yesterday... I'm hoping that there will come a day when we can think back on this and remember that something like that had happened. I'm glad that everyone who came today was able to watch the concert until the end, but there are fans that couldn't come today. When we were seeing you off yesterday, I thought that what we could do for you was to do more and more NEWS activities. It'll be our tenth anniversary soon, Koyama will be 30, I'll be 27, but as we become adults, from now on, we'll try to be cuter than Hey Say Jump and Sexy Zone and wilder than KAT-TUN. We'll try our hardest to connect to the fans, so please keep supporting us.

K: I'm Kei-chan, 30 years old.

Us: Whoooo~

K: I'm not sure what kind of reaction that supposed to be. Anyway, thank you so much for coming. We didn't want to have to make that kind of a decision yesterday, but it was the only way to be sure of your safety. I know there are people who couldn't make it today, but I feel that we did this concert for them as well. Yesterday, there were fans who started to feel sick and they were helped by other fans. I knew that NEWS fans were warm and gentle, but this made me feel it even more strongly. It's a wonderful thing, fans helping fans. Thank you for helping yesterday. I feel that I have the role of Leader that connects the fans and members... so as Leader, I won't let you go anywhere!

Us: Whoooo~!

K: Overcoming these troubles will make us stronger, so let's aim for the top together! Thank you!

The others joined him on the stage.

K: Let's do this! We feel that the fans are always close to us, so we hope this will give you a push on the back. Please listen to "Cry". It was very pretty. They all thanked us for coming again and waved.

K: Was it fun?

Us: Yeah!

K: It made us relieved to see your happy faces. For the last time, what's our name? Are you ready? Did you take a deep breathe? Se~ no~!!

Us: NEWS!

The water cannons shot off everywhere.

T: This was a fantastic summer!

The first encore began with "Happy Birthday". They were all in the tour t-shirts, but Kei-chan came out wearing one of the hair clips too. We sang along when we could. Massu was goofing around off camera, doing a move where he shook his knees back and forth. He also switched the lyrics of "kimi no mirai ni sachiare" to "minna no mirai" (The best of luck to all your futures.)

Massu and Kei were being cute in "Nagisa no Onee Summer". Massu was peeking between his fingers while Kei was dancing together with one of the back dancers. He and a different dancer also hugged. Kei wasn't done with the fan service yet, because he lifted up his shirt to show us his stomach.

At some point, Kei's hair clip had gotten passed to Tegoshi cuz he was wearing it when he came over to our section. At the end of the song, he gave it to someone in the crowd.

We got our towels ready for one last go. "Koi Matsuri" began with Tegoshi sticking his face into one of the cameras. They moved back to the center stage and at the end, firework showers shot out of the stage, with a few other small ones going off too.

K: Everyone, could you hear us alright?

Kei started the introductions of the juniors and MADE.

T: Thank you, everyone who came and everyone who couldn't come. You're all great!

K: And thank you to the staff. We were able to make some great memories tonight. We're NEWS!

They all bowed to us.

As the stage lowered, Kei mouthed "thank you" again, giving us a peace sign that he changed to a thumbs up. A video of fireworks morphed into the word, NEWS.

The second encore was "4+Fan". Massu decided not to sing, but say his line of "Kodoku to tatakai bokura wa" and right as he was about to finish it off cooly, Shige cut in singing out "kattanda!" Massu also walked super slowly during the line "aruki daseta yo". Shige and Massu walked past our section, ending up somewhere near the back.

T: You're all so energetic! It's amazing!

Us: One more! One more!

K: Hey, you guys! Get over here!

Massu and Shige started toward them, but Massu judged the distance they both had to walk and announced, "I'm gonna win!"

K: Dash!

They both took off running, but the second Shige passed by Massu, he stopped running and stared at Shige's back. After a moment of consideration, he started sneakily running to catch up. Shige noticed as Massu got close and yelled, "Scary! Scary!" The two of them starting running full out and Shige only just barely won.

K: Are you having fun?

Us: Yeah!

T: That's some amazing energy.

All: Thank you!

Shige changed the lyrics to his solo to "Shige-chan, ureshii wa, sing a song".

T: Tegonya's here!

Tegoshi raised his hand high. Massu followed his example and sensing that this was never going to end, Kei-chan said, "That's enough of that!" He ran around trying to stop them from introducing themselves over and over. "You people keep me so busy!"

K: Today's our last day at Chichibu no miya.

T: We'll take the energy we got from you and use it for our tour.

S: Shige-chan is so happy!

K: Kei-chan is too!

T: Tegonya is too! So happy! (Urepi~!)

M: You can see the fantastic love we have here, can't you?

T: Po, po, po, po!

M: And we'll be having our tenth anniversary like this soon.

T: We'll meet you then. Doesn't that make your heart kind of go kyun kyun (make your heart tighten)?

K: Me too.

S: Mine is a little worse than that. So much it's "quntastic"! Massu?

M: Well, I just wanna do it normally...

T: Quntastin, -tin, -tin, -tin, -tin!!

K: Don't hurt yourself.

T: I don't want to go home yet!

Us: Whoooo~!

K: Well then, let's make our hearts go kyun~!!

They performed "Quntastic" for us. Tegoshi came over to our section, grabbing a water bottle from a staff member. He took a swig, then dumped the rest on his head. With nothing else to do with the bottle, he tossed it into the crowd.

K: We love you all!

Shige was sort of stuck on a cart by himself at the back for a bit. As the staff moved him back towards the others, he let out a long note and held it. Masu joined in harmony with him and I think Kei too. Tegoshi joined in last, but he was just loud. ^_^

K: This was a lot of fun! Thank you!

S: Thank you!

K: Is your throat okay?

S: I'm okay. I fixed it with some medicine. I'm doing great!

K: We did the whole concert! Even though it rained at the beginning.

M: See? I'm a "hare otoko".

S: Then you should have used it yesterday!

T: Looks like our prayers got through. Now we can proudly do our tour!

K: We want to make our connection with you even deeper. We'll have a new tour and an event in Tokyo Dome.

Kei turned to the others. "Are you ready? Especially you guys, Tegomasu."

They started testing their voices and asked for us to be very quiet. Without their mics, they yelled as loud as they could, "Thank you so much!!"

S: We hope we'll meet again.

K&T: Be careful!

T: Thank you, honeys!

S: Thank you, koneko-chan! (kittens)

K: Thank you, koneko-chan!

M: Thank you, bakeneko-domo!! (monster cats)

K: Scary! He appeared! Black Massu!

They thanked us again, saying that NEWS was made only with us there.

Koyama and Tegoshi left the stage singing out "Po, po, po~!"

M: I can see a fantastic love being born here now!

Shige laughed at him and thanked us one last time.

The concert ended right at 9 tonight.
