Rightio.
I really need to post more often. I only seem ever to post to comms. I didn't even talk about the rather awesome show by the Jackass youth theatre, "Sharp Practise", and the tomfoolery in the interval and afterwoods
I liked it. It was sort of a history of the abolitionist movement, focusing on the North East, particularly Durham. But I maintain that the whole damn thing was an excuse to gad. They went to Hull, London and Durham. We (the Turrets) stayed home. Curse these Jackass Weardalians, they make fools of us all.
The play. The play was good. I liked the way it was told. It started a bit slow, but it got really good. We found it quite amusing; there's a scene where all the girls take off their clothes to protest against the cotton industry, and all the boys in the audience were like 0,0 But all the girls were wearing Victorian underwear, so the rest of us were just laughing at the pervy boys and going 'you see more than that at a swimming pool, you fools!'
On the more social side of things, it was a chance to catch up with my dear friends Pillow, Beanz, Toni, Rachael, Tommy and Tom. I didn't even see Toni-neesan, all I said to Rach was "nice strip show, hun.",(she was Elizabeth Pease, and led the aforementioned removal of outergarments) I threatened to rape Tommy's hat and he skedaddled and I never found Beanz. On the other hand, I did have a foursome with Tom, Pillow and Mischa. That was quite cool.Anyway, we broke up for 'Easter' on Friday (despite Easter ACTUALLY being last month; hey, I'm not complaining, extra days off FTW). Which was, of course, the Day The Laughter (And Two Characters Whose Names Shall Not Be Revealed For Spoiler Reasons) Died on Torchwood.
*sniffle*
I'm calm now, but...
UWAAAH was a word batted around a LOT last night.
Tosh, you were sweet, fun and kind and I really wanted to se you and Owen together.
Owen, you were an oblivious fool. But we loved you anyway. And it's not fair that you had to die twice.
RIP.Aside from that, there was, of course, Dr Who tonight. And it is on this subject I wish to speak to you.
SQUEEEEE!
First in the new series!
And I didn't expect to like Donna; I didn't like her in her previous appearances. But as it turns out, she's actually rather awesome.
Hehe, "not mating with me, sunshine!"
And those little fat creatures...SO. CUTE. I felt myself developing insulin resistance at their sweetness. There should be more on that, but I couldn't get my dear sister off the computer and then I had to go to 'work' (babysitting, aka watching Labyrinth, doodling and reading American Gods, which my teacher and very good friend Mrs Uzzell-Smith swapped me for Smoke And Mirrors on Friday), so, you know, slight loss of emotional momentum.
But never mind.
What's your take on the new Torchwood/Dr Who eps?
