Hey, kids, I'm back!

For as long as my wrists hold out anyway. No luck with Bitty. She keeps going under my mom's bed, though I think my mom got her antibiotic in her, which is something. Poor thing went through goodness knows what in her first years of life, then makes it here, starts to feel a wee bit safe, then has to go to the vet. She starts to get over that, and then all this starts! When we did her antibiotic last night, I let her stand on the bed and just held her front end, but the medicine went all over the place, so I suggested my mom hold her while I gave the med. I think what really freaked her out was when my mom tried to pick her up and hold her to do this. She's not used to that! I picked her up when she was in my bedroom to carry her next door to my mom's before this and 3/4 of the way there she started to freak. I had no idea my mom was going to do that. Maybe neither one of us was awake enough then to be trying to give her meds. I don't know. Maybe my mom is thinking of other cats we've medicated, but that wasn't the right approach for her. I told my mom if we had the chance to do it again (and I really hope we do...soon!), to hold her the way I did and not pick her up. Some cats never get into the whole pick me up and cuddle thing. Monkey was like that, so maybe subconsciously my mom was thinking of him. He used to do the cutest thing. He'd go into the one bathroom where we used to live and cry so my mom would come and 'rescue' him. She'd pick him up and he'd put his top third (including front paws) over her shoulder. She called it playing fireman. ::g:: He'd also nuzzle your face and touch noses. I'll always miss that boy. ::sigh:: Tigger touches noses with *me* and nuzzles (though Monkey was much more into it; he'd do it with both mom and I), but most other cats I've met don't.

Okay, I'm making myself sad, so I'll stop there.
