Ciao!
Thought I should attempt an LJ post, as I actually seem to be getting a portion of my life back! I got back yesterday from two lovely weeks in Italy (a rural cottage in Tuscany). Piccies may follow if I get my act together, but right now I’m wading through my backlog of emails (no, I don’t want to play in your fucking online casino!!) and all sorts of Hughey related yumminess.
Tuscany was beautiful and the weather was perfect (how lovely to come back to this wet, gray, sticky non-summer we seem to be having here). We did have a few near-disasters though (car rental agencies going broke and running off with our money, my sister and I getting ambushed by pervs while out running, my sister waking up to find a burglar in her bedroom…and more!) Ah Italy, I loved you but you did manage to frazzle my nerves somewhat.
Life was far too busy before I went away and I haven’t been able to get online much - but I have finally finished the management qualification I was studying for, yay!!!! I’ve never felt so relieved to finish anything - the MSc was so easy compared. Mind you, my job wasn’t so busy then - since April we’ve had double the workload with only one extra staff member (still being trained). It’s madness and I was furious with my boss for letting us get stitched up like that - but now her hubby has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, so I feel I have to just try and get on with things and support her as much as possible rather than make waves. My consultant told me I’d have to cancel my Italy trip - I told her to stick that idea in a region of extreme anatomical sensitivity and I think she got the message. Oh NHS, I love you but you are a complete bitch to work for.
Hopefully I will get to catch up with a few people over the next few days! Now I need to go watch a few of those Comic-Con videos where Hugh is where wearing an unfeasibly tight shirt. It’s good to be home!
