So, that's Katy, me, Amanda, and Kisha. Among us, one has raced MTB before- granted it was in 1998-, one has ridden trail more than five times, three have ridden ever on trails. Yeah, that's right, we had a team member who had never been on a mountain bike.
And Saturday, we raced a 12-hour enduro. On a rigid fork singlespeed. Through an 11+ mi lap. With some hellish, rocky, sandy, root-y, suicidal chipmunk kind of terrain. The four of us rode a total of 7 laps and took second, of two teams, but we finished. We rode strong. One of us sprained an ankle, two of us took some nasty falls, but we all had an awesome time. And they gave us second place medals. And I think we might do it again.
