i noticed earlier this week that one of those blue-flashing-light Chicago Police cameras was installed at the corner of Augusta and California. I have mixed feelings about that. I mean, there's a lot of drug running that happens there and on adjacent corners, but what does this mean? Are they trying to "clean up" the area?
Last night we were enjoying beers with friends and a high speed chase came through our alley. The perps jumped out of their car at the end of the alley and ran, and we heard the "Get on the ground, F'kers!" and saw the action that anyone who watches Cops is sort of used to. There were probably about 8 squad cars, mostly Sherriff, but some Chicago police, too. Maybe they are trying to clean up the area. Who knows.
... and in other news, Molly and I walk every morning still, and i'm starting to get annoyed at people being afraid of her. I mean, do they realize how insulting it is to me that they get off the sidewalk? She's trained. She won't hurt you. She might lick you or say hi, but that's it. People, a good dog won't attack. And a dog with a choke collar doesn't mean it's scary or bad, it means the owner's in full control.
