Got my catalog for next term. Of course, me being me, I had to dig right into it and start making decisions even though registration doesn't open until 02/22 and classes don't start until the beginning of April. ;-)
So, I think I decided on:
Software Tools online class (hopefully the instructor doesn't suck)
This introductory course is for student with some previous knowledge and exposure to computers and serves as a foundation course for all other computer courses. The focus of the course is on personal computers and thier applications, concentrating on computers using a Windows operating system. Basic hardware and software concepts are reviewed and examined in depth. The lab activities concentrate on gaining proficiency in the use of 1. a common operating system 2. software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software 3. tools such as the World Wide Web including electronic mail and 4. information resources and research databases and networking. Through readings and discussion, students explore the social and ethical aspects of the computerization of society.
Math 502 Contemporary College Mathematics online class
This course addresses a variety of topics in mathematics that are necessary in a broad liberal arts education. It provides the reasoning strategies needed for mathematical problem solving in the workplace and in everyday life as well as the foundation for higher level math courses and the quantitative skills necessary to be adequately prepared for coursework in other acedemic areas. Focusing on application, topics include problem solving, algebraic applications, probability, and statistics.
Child Development Rochester campus Tuesday 5:30-9:00 pm
This course focuses on the development of children from birth to early adolescence. It includes the major developmental theories and perspectives as well as an overview of the research methodology used in the field. Current research in the areas of physical, cognitivie, and social and emotional development ar e considered in the context of the child's environment.
I was only going to do one online and one face to face class but I think both of the online classes are easy enough that I can get away with it. ;-)
