Fucking Delicious, or why I just spent two days repeatedly hitting the delete button
1) If you're just trying to find bookmarks, they're hanging out at https://pinboard.in/u:yarngeek.
1a) I don't actually think that anyone I don't know (personally in meatspace) is reading this or looking for these, but it feels immensely dickish to take 15000+ bookmarks down without pointing to where they went.
2) When I signed up for Delicious in April of 2007, I was asked for my first name (so delicious could address me informally) and my last name (so they could address me formally) and I'm pretty sure they told me they wouldn't use it publically. That name is now being displayed.
2a) I gave my first name as "Yarn" and my last name as "Geek," but that's still Not Okay.
2b) I don't actually see a "delete account" option, and I don't trust these new people not to "forget" that I deactivated my account, unprivatize everything, and, I dunno, publish my goddamn email address. So I'm clearing everything out first and wiping the place down with bleach as well as I can.
ION, I'm not dead, I'm still checking in, but I'm super introverted and accidentally ended up in a super-social job (which I like and am good at at a really nice place to work), so I'm probably going to be quiet around here for the next couple years.
